How much do you know the difference between a linear module and a linear motor?

Linear modules are also called linear modules , linear slide tables , and electric slide tables . They use synchronous belts or ball screws to drive the slide movement. Generally speaking, the working accuracy of a linear motor is higher than that of a linear module. This is because the linear motor is simple in structure and no other central conversion organization participates during its work. The energy loss of electricity converted into mechanical energy is less, and the dynamic response function and positioning accuracy are greatly improved, making the working accuracy of the linear motor higher than that of the linear module.


The difference in speed


In terms of speed, linear motors have considerable advantages. Moreover, the speed of linear motors will be further improved after successfully dealing with the heating problem, while the "rotating servo motor + ball screw" is subject to many restrictions in terms of speed and it is difficult to make any progress. In terms of dynamic echo, linear motors have absolute advantages due to problems such as motion inertia, clearance and tissue complexity.


In terms of speed control, linear motors respond faster and have a wider speed regulation scale, reaching 1:10,000. They can reach the highest speed at the moment of starting up and can be agilely aborted when running at high speed.


Differences in noise


The linear motor is less noise than the linear module. Since the linear motor does not have centrifugal force constraints, there is no mechanical contact during movement, so there is no friction and noise. The transmission parts are not worn, which can greatly reduce mechanical losses and prevent noise from streamers, cables, gears and pulleys, etc., thereby increasing the overall power.


Price difference


Linear motors have higher functions than linear modules in all aspects, so linear motors are more expensive in terms of price, and are usually several times more expensive.
